Dupage training academy

DuPage Training Academy is a premier sports training facility for athletes and teams in baseball, softball, and sport specific speed and strength training.

​

We offer a variety of baseball & softball camps, clinics, leagues, showcases, and travel teams for all ages and experience levels. 

​

Rent space to practice hitting, pitching, speed & strength training or connect with an instructor and get top level instruction from former college and pro players!

​

If you are looking to host an indoor practice, we have a large indoor infield area that is perfect for fielding and base running drills.

A 5 year starting and closing pitcher at the division 1 Northwestern University. Sam has great experience that offers him to be a stellar instructor for young pitchers. Sam has been coaching and giving lessons for the past 5 years and looks forward to a long future of developing other players.

2x Upstate Eight All-Conference Selection at Bartlett High School Baseball. University of Minnesota Duluth Baseball player 2015-2019. NCAA Division II Top 25 finish.

2016 NSIC Conference Champion. Played summer baseball for the Northwest Indiana Oilmen in the Midwest Collegiate League in 2016 and 2018. Played

summer baseball for Syracuse Saltcats in the New York Collegiate League in 2017. Division II, NCIS Conference UMD Baseball Team Captain 2018-2019.

Current Assistant Coach at Oakton Community College (Des Plaines, IL). Previously a hitting coach for the Gary SouthShore Railcats of the American Association (Indy), Assistant Coach at Chicago State University (2018/2019) and Assistant Coach at McHenry County College( 2015/2018). Has been on staff for two NJCAA National Championship appearances: McHenry CC D2 2016 and Oakton CC D3 2022. Training youth athletes since 2015 at SportsCity Academy as Lead Baseball Instructor/Director of Off-season Development. A standout Baseball player at Jacobs High School and McHenry CC. Played baseball at D1 Chicago State and received 1st Team All WAC honors in 2015.

Pitcher in the Washington Nationals Organization. Finishing in AAA, Alex recently completed his 6th professional season after being drafted out of Michigan State University in 2017. Alex pitched and played first base/outfield at MSU for 3 years where, in 2017, he was recognized as a finalist for the John Olreud 2 way player (Pitching and Hitting) of the year award. Locally, Alex attended Marmion Academy where he received Conference Player of the year in 2014.

Played at the University Of Missouri Baseball from 2015-2018. Trey was the All-Sec Freshman in 2015. In 2018 he was the 32nd round Atlanta Braves in, 2019 Braves Minor League Player of The Year,

2019 Arizona Fall League All Star,

2019 Organizational All Star,

2021 Double A Southern League Champion and had a career .275 batting average in the minor leagues.

Grant Davis

Former standout OF at Morris High School (Morris, IL), voted Team Captain, Team MVP, and earned All Conference honors. Played at Concordia University Chicago (DIII), playing part in 4 NACC Conference Championships, 4 NCAA regional appearances, and 2 DIII College World Series appearances. Concordia was consistently ranked in the top 10 in the nation from 2014-2019, including stints at #1 and #3 respectively. Saw his best season in 2016 appearing in 37 games and hitting .330, helping the Cougars to a 34-13 record and a NCAA playoff appearance. Has been training youth athletes since 2016, along with coaching travel baseball teams ages 14u-17u over the years.

A former standout player at Louisiana Tech. and is currently the co-head coach at Wheaton Academy High School. Rick is the coach for the 16U DTA Wildcats travel baseball team and is one of the top hitting instructors at DTA.

EDDIE PIECZYNSKI
Baseball Hitting, Pitching & Catching

Eddie Pieczynski was a 2-year letter winner at Parkland Junior College and Illinois State University. He led ISU in hitting his senior year. Eddie then went on to play professionally in the Independent Frontier League as a star catcher. He now focuses on working with players on hitting/pitching mechanics as well developing strong catchers.

KRISTA MATSUI
softball Hitting, slapping & defense

Krista was a four year varsity letter winner in softball and earned three letters in basketball and two in volleyball at Plainfield South High School. She was selected by the Chicago Sun Times Super 60 in Illinois as one of the top 60 seniors in the state. At Northern Illinois University, Krista started at third base and short stop playing in 151 out of 169 games and was a team leader each year in sacrifice bunts. Krista is now a softball DTA instructor for hitting, slapping, and defensive skills.

BRIANNA MCKENZIE
softball HITTING, CATCHING & DEFENSE

Graduated from Glenbard North High School in 2009 where she played basketball and softball for 4 years. Her softball team went undefeated in one season and won three conference championships. She also earned All-Conference honors 3 years in a row. She was selected by the Chicago Sun Times Super 60 in Illinois as one of the top 60 seniors in the state. Brianna went on to play softball for Kankakee Community College where she earned NJCAA All-American honors for catching. The team finished 2nd and 3rd in the Nation in 2010 and 2011. She holds the record for most hits with 97 in a season and is ranked second for most doubles in a season in Kankakee history. She went on to play at Judson University where she earned NAIA Player of the Week multiple times.

Danni Battaglia

Softball HITTING, Slapping & Defense
Graduated from Glenbard East High School in 2007 where she played four years of volleyball and softball. Broke and held the school stolen bases record and earned All-Conference varsity honors junior and senior year in softball. Had the fastest home-first time of 2.58 seconds at the Orland Park Sparks tournament and the Colorado Sparkler exposure tournament in 2006. Glen Ellyn Phillies travel team won the Illinois State Championship tournament in 2006 where she earned several mvp and golden glove awards at shortstop. Dani then went on to the University of Michigan, winning the 2009 Big Ten Conference, super regional title and 5th place at the 2009 Women’s College World Series, after a career ending injury.

Attended Glenbard North Highschool (2006-2009) Earned all-conference honors during all four varsity seasons (including being named Dupage Valley Conference most valuable player as a senior) and was a three-year member of the all-area team...Voted team most valuable player twice, while also garnering All-State awards for two seasons. Finished her pitching career at Glenbard North with an 80-18 career record and 884 strikeouts. Best season on the rubber was her sophomore season, when she was 26-1 with a 0.42 earned run average and 232 strikeouts...Went 21-6 with 227 strikeouts and an 0.57 ERA as a senior. Also was 19-4 with a career-high 241 K's and a 0.19 ERA as a freshman and 14-7 with a 0.89 earned run average. Won four regional titles and three conference championships, while advancing to the sectional finals senior year. Was selected by the Chicago Sun Times to play in Super 60 in Illinois as one of the top 60 seniors in the state. Played for the Beverly Bandits Travel team from 2006-2008. Attended Kankakee College for one year while earning NJCAA All American honors. Went on to play at Grand Valley State University the next 3 years. During the 2010-2013 season. Daktronics All American. Two time NFCA First Team All Midwest region team. Two Daktronics first team all Midwest region. Two time All GLIAC first team. Pitcher of the week handful of times. Led GLIAC conference in victories senior year. Finished GVSU career in several all time categories in just 3 years. Went to the NCAA DII College World Series senior year and took 3rd place.

Lauren Vaughn
softball Hitting & defense

Lauren graduated from Wheaton North High School in 2022 where she played 4 years of varsity softball (COVID year). She finished each season over .400 Batting Avg. Lauren was All-Conference 3x, All-Area & All-State 2x while breaking the Single Season Stolen Base Record and held it from 2019-2023. She also broke and still holds the All-Time Homerun Record at Wheaton North. Lauren was Defensive Player of The Year Junior year, Most Valuable Player Senior year, Player of the Week on Daily Herald 1x. She was also a Beverly Bandit for 7 years and PGF National Qualifier 7x. Top 100 National Player 6x in a row. Committed to Syracuse in 8th grade and went on to play one year there but had to stop due to shoulder injuries. Lauren is also  Cheetahs 18u Assistant Coach.
